30" fabric wall hanging. SOLD
Black Willow is a common native tree in Ontario, and one of the most supportive of all kinds of insects and birds. It loves moist river beds - I fondly remember the Black Willows growing along the Thames River, with their irregular branched trunks providing shade and places for kids to climb. I was surprised to learn that several species of aphids inhabit its stems and leaves. Aphids are a nourishing source of food for a host of other insects, and small birds and their young. So I've added some Black Willow Aphids to this wall piece.
