2021 14x14" (includes black hardwood frame, 16x16") SOLD I made this piece to resist falling into depression over the sad, bad, negative events in the world at the moment. Those of us who are blessed and cursed with empathy are especially vulnerable to falling into chronic sadness. Although I have known for a while that trees connect with and support each other I am now learning that all of nature, throughout the earth, works as one organism in support of all. So my imagery in this piece reflects this, and it brings me comfort. Also, the canopy of the trees is made from a recycled man's shirt, something I'm planning to incorporate in more of my work over time. |
